Enter the Mother of Chaos #0: Who will defend Earth?

Prologue

When the world’s best heroes were whisked away to a multiversal tournament,

The Empress of Darkness set her sights on Earth.

Do the remaining heroes stand a chance against Veles and her Dark Cabal?

Alarms blare at Pharaoh Industries.

Taharqa: Are Sol and the others back?

Ezekiel: No, it’s not them. An unknown ship has been reported to have entered our solar system just outside of Neptune.

Taharqa: Pull up the feed.

Everyone in the facility halts what they're doing as they see a massive alien fleet filling the monitors.

Ezekiel: Sir…Sir… Taharqa!!!

Taharqa: We need the infiltration team ready to go, ASAP!!

Ezekiel: Who would we call? All of our best disappeared weeks ago.

Taharqa: Everyone.

Ezekiel: What?

Taharqa: CALL EVERYONE!!!

Pandemonium erupts inside Pharaoh Industries. Personnel scramble to track down every available hero, desperately trying to find those willing and capable of stopping a planetary threat.

As drones soar through the skies, messages broadcast across cities where the remaining heroes are already engaged in battle. Heroes like The View, Zillah, and Kurozei—each embroiled in their respective fights—look up as the drones play a message from Taharqa.

Taharqa (via drone): As many of you know, we’ve called on you because our world’s strongest heroes have all disappeared. But the threats don’t stop in their absence. As we speak, an alien fleet is closing in on Earth, and we have only 24 hours to mobilize. If you accept, the drones will bring you to Pharaoh HQ, where you will be fully briefed.

12 hours later at Pharaoh Industries HQ, the gathering begins.

Taharqa: Is this everyone?

Ezekiel: There are others, but with how fast the alien fleet is moving...

Taharqa: Fine. This will have to do.

Taharqa stands at the window, his eyes on the setting sun as he wrestles with the weight of the moment. The heroes assembled behind him are a diverse but untested group. The ominous silhouette of the alien fleet hangs heavy on the horizon.

Taharqa (thinking): You picked the worst time to disappear, Sol. I don’t know if this group is going to be enough. Where did you go?
